As a young girl I was fascinated with the horse, especially the Arabian. Their grace and beauty is unsurpassed and I spent countless hours sketching them. Picking charcoal from the dusty cooled embers of our fireplace. I soon was able to capture the strength and freedom of the Arabians movement.
As I continued to study and draw the different breeds, I began to see deeper into the structure of the animal, not realizing it would be a valuable asset to my career in Equine Massage. I still draw and paint, but my real passion exists in sculpting. Or should I say re-sculpting. Sound hokey? Maybe?
Equine Massage is exactly that - remolding tired overworked stretched muscles, or just making slight imperfections more perfect.
We never know where a path will take us. We just have to be willing and ready to go. I began my career unintentionally as a result of one of my own horse’s injury in 2002. Through private study and mentoring, I learned to massage my own horse back to health. I found myself inadvertently helping other horses and resolving pain issues. Encouraged by friends, I decided to form Balance Freedom Equine Massage. So I proceeded to obtain Certification in Equine Sports Massage through Equissage.
Continued education enabled me to advance in areas of Myofascial, Deep Tissue, Mobilization and Saddle-fitting.
Mike Scott has been instrumental in helping me expand my practice into what it is today.
I was invited to participate in a Cadaver Lab held in April 2008, with several of my colleagues at Tufts University.
I am based out of Milton, FL in the northwest Florida panhandle, but provide services throughout the country.
