Canine Massage
Dennie Semore, CEMT, VOM
The combination of muscle therapy and orthopedic mobiliization has benefited both
equine and canines as an alternative modality since the mid-eighties. Often when an
owner is left with little to know hope, they turn to alternative practitioners.

Today it is becoming a common practice to include such modalities in the routine care
of animals. Most people are not aware these type of therapies are available. It does
not take the place of veterinary care, but rather is part of the holistic approach to the
care and well being of the animal.

Many people are not even aware that massage therapy for dogs is an option, but it is
and the results can often be seen fairly quickly. For example, Quentin, of Milton, FL
had been suffering lick granduloma for years. After three sessions of massage, his
granduloma was no longer a problem for him. The sore healed, he quit licking and
chewing, and the hair has returned. Another case is of an agility dog named Ice. Her
owner, an agility and behaviorist trainer in Niceville, FL, was concerned with the
longevity of Ice's career. Ice had an usual twist in her pelvis when she would go over a
jump. Post treatment, Ice no longer has the quirky twist and is moving up in the ranks.
Brandy, a rescue dog, was unable to lift his leg to urinate. After treatment, his owner
called one day ecstatic about his ability to step up to the plate like the rest of the guys.

Neuronal Subluxations are the culprit in these and many other cases. Subluxations
need to be freed in order to restore balance and system function. There are countless
testimonies of both equine and canine life enrichment.
Pets Behave in Niceville, FL has
been a huge supporter of Balance
